Winter Books

A young child’s first introduction to the seasons beyond playing outdoors is usually books. Seasonal books are fun for young kids because they can relate to putting on a coat, hat or swimming suit. They recognize a Halloween costume or even green leaves versus brown leaves that crunch under their feet.

Everything is still so new to young children. Seeing snow for the first time can leave an impression and being able to see it and name it in a book afterwards is more meaningful. A variety of seasonal books is great to have on hand, and they are also books that will be revisited frequently.
