Saint George & the Dragon
There is so much to do in September! It's the time of year to pick apples, bring in the garden harvest, make some fun corn dollies, teach our children about the autumnal equinox and it’s the perfect time of year to emphasize the virtues of being brave and doing the right thing, even when no one else chooses to. Teaching our children to honor the courage we see every day in noble acts, both large and small and to honor kindness and perserverance in others and ourselves is a perfect theme in September thanks to the story of St. George and the Dragon. That, of course, is the celebration of Michaelmas.
Benefits of Arts & Crafts for Children
Developing fine motor skills for children requires practice opportunities. When you introduce arts & crafts to children and maintain that practice as they grow, you’re giving them opportunities to develop and refine those fine motor skills. Their brains benefit from bilateral coordination, their dexterity increases, as do problem-solving skills and creativity, not to mention their self-confidence and the bonding time with family while learning these important skills.
