DESCRIPTION

STOCKMAR Watercolor Circle Paints are based on Goethe’s color wheel, or circle  The three primary colors are beautifully transparent. With just these three colors, one can create all the colors of Goethe’s Color Circle.

We love STOCKMAR Watercolors for our children and as adults. The color pigments are completely non toxic and water soluble, even when dry.

Try these three primary colors on wet watercolor paper with your little ones. Watch the colors swirl and move across the paper.  And feel good that you are using a child safe paint that has such great qualities.

USAGE AND CARE OF YOUR PAINTS

STOCKMAR paints are a worthwhile investment in quality art supplies for you and your children, so you want to make them last as long as possible. Here are our suggestions on how to make that happen based on our own years of use.

DILUTION RATIO FOR PAINTING

We always start with a dilution ratio of 1 part paint concentrate to 9-10 parts water. But that’s the dilution we tend to like. Some people may prefer less or more but if you are new to STOCKMAR, it’s a great starting place.

PREVENTING THICK PAINT OR WHAT TO DO IF IT DOES THICKEN

With age or lack of use, the pigment concentrate in these paints will thicken. This is normal. It’s still usable! Warmer temperatures also hasten this process.

We’ve found that storing your paints in a cool location or even a refrigerator helps prevent or slow this process.

We also use a clean wooden stick, like a skewer, to stir the concentrate as it will usually separate upon thickening too. Scrape as much concentrate off your skewer back into your paint bottle! It’s too valuable to waste. Now just shake it up!

Once you add concentrated paint and water to your jar, the paint will be as wonderful as always.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND ADDING WATER TO THE BOTTLE AS WATER WILL REDUCE ITS LIFESPAN AND COULD SET UP AN ENVIRONMENT FOR MICROBES. WE RECOMMEND THE SHAKE AND STIR METHOD ONLY OR THINNING IT WITH WATER IN A SEPARATE BOWL OR JAR.

LEFTOVER PAINT?

Store any leftover watercolor paint in a lidded, closed container in a cool location, preferably a refrigerator.  Toss out at two weeks. Safe to pour down the sink drain.
