Our Art Makes Sense (AMS) Children's Pentatonic Harp with 7 strings was designed by Auris by special request of Waldorf educators. But you do not have to be aWaldorf teacher to benefit from this harp.
This pentatonic harp has clear bright tones carried by its maple wood and is intended to be a simple instrument through which games, story time, nap or rest time, playing together and listening enables the child to know music in the broadest sense. It is an economical way to experience the harp, yet maintain sound and resonance quality.
WHAT MAKES THIS CHILDREN’S HARP DIFFERENT?
This model of Children’s Harp (LOB) has an opening in the area where you play the strings. It is possible to use both hands simultaneously to play this harp in your lap.
HOW DO I HOLD THIS HARP?
To play this harp with two hands instead, you put the lyre in an upright position on your lap resting on the left hand wrist. You can let it slide down slightly between your thighs to have a firmer grip. The two-handed playing challenges and stimulates the motoric skills and balance skills of the child.
THE 7-STRINGED PENTATONIC HARP – is tuned in a pentatonic scale which allow the fingers to move freely over the strings always producing a harmonic tune. With this harp, no matter how play, it will always sound good. You can let the fingers stroll up and down the strings in any combination of tones and it gives you little sweet melodies all the time. A light, almost heavenly scale that allows you to create music freely without the frustrating struggle with wrong notes or inharmonious sound.
