If you're new to needle felting and looking for a fun project to try, we think you'll enjoy making these evergreen trees. They make a great decoration whether used in a scene or on their own and are great in pretend play with older children who take care of their toys.
Felting time: about 3 hours per tree depending on individual felting speed.
YOU WILL ALSO NEED A mat to use as a work surface and glue to attach the trunks. Mats that work for this project include foam, burlap, or wool. Once you have a mat, it can be used for many projects. Note that foam is the most economical but wears out the fastest. At Alder and Alouette, we sell foam mats, wool mats and burlap mats separately.
WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD – Children under 3 yrs. can choke or suffocate on wool batting/roving. Keep wool batting/roving away from children under 3 yrs.
WARNING: SHARP POINTS HAZARD—Not suitable for children under 10 yrs. Not a Toy. Contains functional sharp point.
WARNING: ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED—To be used under the direct supervision of an adult.
PLEASE NOTE: This kit was designed with adults and children over 10 years in mind who possess good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with focus and care. (Caution - felting needles are sharp!) Felting needles are extremely pointed and sharp and are also made with sharp barbs along the needle to grasp the wool fibers.
