Crayon Rocks are simply the best coloring tool for young children!  Crayon rocks were developed by a teacher to strengthen the tripod grip muscles in young children and improve fine motor coordination. They are vibrantly colored crayons and make beautifully textured artwork similar to oil pastels. Their rock shape allow small fingers to color easily in large, wide strokes.
These all-natural soy wax crayons are made from USA grown soybeans and colored with non-toxic pigment powders in sixteen primary and secondary colors. They come in a 100% cotton muslin bag for storage.

ABOUT CRAYON ROCKS
Crayon Rocks were developed by Barbara Lee, an Elementary School Teacher of kids with special needs for 23 years. Inspired by Jan Olson's Handwriting Without Tears Program, developed for kids who had difficulty handwriting due to an underdeveloped tripod grip in their early years, Barbara set out to create a simple tool kids could use to develop this. After four years, Barbara finally had the perfect tool: Soft, soy wax crayon rocks!
Barbara states on her website, "Since a child's first writing tool is usually a crayon, that crayon should be one that encourages him or her to use thumb, first and second fingers in a tripod grip. This is what makes Crayon Rocks a wonderful tool for fine motor development. Because of their shape, they do not allow kids to easily grip them in a closed fist or with any other inappropriate style of grip that deters fine motor development."
As educators at Alder and Alouette, we can't agree with Barbara more! We love your product Barbara! And your crayons really do rock!
